Why use online backup?
Many people believe that buying an external hard drive is the only backup strategy they need. However, online backups provide several compelling advantages over manual backup methods:

4. Online backup with Angel Backup holds multiple versions of your files. This means that if you accidentally overwrite a file, you will be able to restore the previous version from your Angel Backup account.

How secure is it?
Angel Backup uses Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology to ensure that your data is securely transmitted over the internet. SSL is the same technology used by your bank when you use your internet banking service. It is designed to prevent eavesdropping, tampering and message forgery.

Additionally, Angel Backup offers you the option to digitally encrypt your files by means of a secret encryption key, known only to you. This option provides you with the security of a 256-bit encryption algorithm as well as the 128-bit security provided by SSL.

The security doesn't stop once your data is received by the Angel Backup servers. Our servers are located in physically secure facilities and your data remains encrypted on our servers at all times.

Can I back up a network drive or an external USB hard drive?
Yes you can! At Angel Backup, we don't restrict what sort of drives you can back up. It's simple to back up network drives, external hard drives, even USB flash drives. Just select the drive in the Angel Backup software and sit back as your data is transferred. You can even use Angel Backup to protect your servers.

Does it take a long time?
Your first backup might take some time to run, especially if you have a large amount of data to backup. However, Angel Backup uses highly efficient compression technology to ensure that your data is transmitted as quickly as possible to our servers. Once your first backup has been completed, only the changes you make will be transmitted. This means that if you just change one page of a 100 page document, only the page that you've changed will be sent.

Can I backup multiple PCs?
Yes you can! Simply install Angel Backup on each PC you want backed up. You can connect all the PCs to one Angel Backup account so you just have one monthly bill to pay.

What sort of data is suitable?
Angel Backup is ideally suited to backing up photos, mp3s, office documents etc. You can back up your Outlook emails or even large databases and spreadsheets. We recommend that you select the 'My Documents' folder on your computer for backing up, as this is where most of your personal files will be stored.

We don't recommend backing up a program's executable files using Angel Backup - the sort of files you might find in the 'Program Files' or 'Windows' folders. The best way to recover these files following a hardware failure is to reinstall them from the original CDs.

Will Angel Backup bombard me with advertising?
No we won't! We at Angel Backup know just how annoying pop-up ads and spam email can be. Our service is completely ad-free.
